Family is indeed important, but not everyone makes the effort to see one another or simply be present. When it does happen, spending that time together really does do something to you. At the same time, some families are simply just
dysfunctional. I’m glad to see you being philosophical about things, especially when life hasn’t been very kind to you lately. I’m sure 2026 will bring blessings your way.
Apparently, 2025 was the Year of the Snake in Chinese numerology a period associated with shedding and facing uncomfortable things, which feels quite fitting(for most of us). I spent Christmas on my own this year, but it was actually quite lovely. The past few days have been spent going for runs and walks, watching telly, packing orders and now trying to find my next book to read.😅

Sorry to bear you've had a particularly difficult time of it recently, though glad that you've managed to remain philosophical about it all.
Indeed, there are none more precious than family. I was out with mine earlier (Sunday) to the Galloway Forest Park, feeding the red deer up there. Several bags of chopped up carrots, parsnips, cabbage and sprouts disappeared into hungry but appreciative bellies. A thoroughly enjoyable experience all round.
