Celebrating Love
~ An ode to love in all its forms ~
It's the day to celebrate love.
Love in all its forms.
I vividly remember being 6 or 7 years old and getting some colouring pencils and a piece of card to make my dear Mum a Valentine's Day card. I wanted to show the love I felt for my inspiration on a day that is dedicated to do so. It’s a little tradition I love to keep every year, minus the questionable crayon-drawing of my Mum.
Today is the perfect day to celebrate all of the love we are gifted with in this life.
~ I am blessed to have a family full of wonderful individuals whom I have an immeasurable amount of love in my heart for. The people in our lives who we love so dearly make life what it is, they are utterly precious.
Due to being chronically ill from a very young age, I have been rather isolated over the years, especially since becoming bed-bound in 2019. That means I haven’t really had the opportunity to build on relationships that I ought to. I have definitely been more eager to build on friendships in recent months, they are one of the many loves we should take a moment to celebrate and have gratitude for today.
Amongst all of those we choose to spend time with/celebrate today, I'm trying to remember in this moment while feeling a certain amount of unease in my body over the past couple of weeks, how essential self-love is. To show ourselves compassion and to also start to direct some of that love inwards. I feel like that is much easier said than done for an endless amount of us sensitive souls who can have the tendency to be rather hypocritical of ourselves.
I celebrate love in all its forms today.
Celebrating a love for life and the unbelievable miracle that it truly is.
In spite of the bouts of turbulence that are impacting all of us right across our planet at present, you only have to go outside your front door, breathe in the fresh air into your lungs and see the astonishing beauty of nature all around you to be aware of that divine miracle. It is all something to love and to cherish. Or in my case while I'm not currently physically able to get out at the moment, there are still an enormous amount of things in my day and in my life that make me aware of its miraculous power that I am so in love with…
~ waking up to see the gorgeous morning light hit my curtain ~ wishing my best friend a good morning and to feel the blessing of a new day together ~ building deeper and more fulfilling connections with my nearest and dearest ~ hearing the sounds of laughter from my Mumma and older brother ~ speaking to our family on the phone ~ journaling about my daily glimmers of an evening ~ having a camera in my hands ~ having the opportunity and inspiration to create in any capacity ~ pressing play on a favourite record ~ getting stuck into a good old book ~ the joy of dedicating time to practice meditation with my dear Mum ~
I have immense gratitude for it all and an immense amount of love for it all.
Oh, what a joy it is to celebrate love ~ love in all its beautiful forms! And I cherish each and every one of them today and everyday. Placing a hand over my heart and thinking of all that immense love makes me incredibly grateful.
Love & light to each of you this Saturday 14th February. ❤

Loved this so much… it was such a beautiful, poetic read. And your annual tradition with your mother is incredibly thoughtful what a special thing to do. I completely agree, there’s so much beauty in the world to be grateful for, and it truly matters. Love in all its forms… is worth celebrating …love for friends, family and love of self. I hope you’re taking it easy and enjoying your weekend. 💛
Thank you, and likewise🙏 Take care.
